La galerie Wilder & Davis a le plaisir d’accueillir la première exposition de photographies de Giuseppe Pascale intitulée « Dans la rue : explorer la composition urbaine », du 4 novembre 2011 au 3 février 2012. Pour l’artiste, la photographie joue un rôle important dans sa vie, et il décrit souvent le médium comme un moyen d’appréhender son environnement et de mieux le comprendre. Giuseppe Pascale capture de remarquables scènes du quotidien, aussi bien à Montréal, sa ville natale, qu’à l’étranger dans des environnements qui ne lui sont pas familiers.
Pour cette exposition, les clichés ont été sélectionnés autour du thème de l’architecture. Les imposants bâtiments, que l’on regarde la plupart du temps en contre-plongée, sont ici présentés au spectateur grâce une perspective différente. Non seulement cela nous permet de découvrir le caractère majestueux des grands designs, mais ce nouveau regard donne aussi une identité au paysage urbain et lui insuffle un air chaleureux. En partant du principe que chaque ruelle et chaque pâté de maisons possèdent sa propre personnalité, Giuseppe Pascale tente de saisir l’essence des lieux. La photographie n’est pas pour lui un hobby ou une manière de rendre compte de la réalité, c’est une façon de nous proposer le monde tel qu’il le voit à travers son objectif.

Wilder & Davis Gallery is pleased to announce Giuseppe Pascale’s first photographic exhibition entitled “From the Street: Exploring Urban Composition” from November 4, 2011 to February 3, 2012. Photography has always played an important role in Giuseppe’s life and is frequently described by the artist as the chosen key medium to help him better understand and unravel what is going on in his environment. With the distanced gaze of a beholder, Giuseppe captures remarkable perspectives on everyday scenes - usually in his hometown ofMontreal – to new and unfamiliar environments abroad.
For this exhibition, a selection of images have been chosen around the theme of architecture in an inspiring array of vibrant colors, sepia tone to black and white. The imposing buildings, often seen from below, present the viewer with a new experience that not only reveal the structural grandeur of strong architectural designs, but also possesses the ability to instil a sense of warmth and identity to the cityscape itself. With the belief that each building, each square and each alley holds its own character and personality, Giuseppe’s architectural shots constantly strive to capture that essence or sense of place within each frame. Photography for Giuseppe is therefore not simply just another hobby or a visual testimony of his surroundings, but as a means to explore and then further project an inner vision of the world as seen through his lens.
